Can virtual tutoring work well for students who receive special education services?
Yes. I have successfully supported students who receive special education services, including autistic students, students with ADHD, and students with a range of learning and communication needs. Virtual sessions provide a structured, visible workspace with a clear sequence, active tasks, frequent checks for understanding, and materials adapted to each student’s strengths, pace, communication style, and individual needs. Families are welcome to share relevant accommodations or strategies that help their student learn successfully.
Why might a student choose asynchronous academic support?
Asynchronous support can be an excellent option for students with demanding schedules who need the flexibility to work on their own time. Students submit their assignment directions and current work, and I provide focused written feedback, guidance, and next steps. It can also benefit students who prefer additional time to process feedback before revising. Standard feedback is generally provided within two business days after the materials and scope have been confirmed.
How do I know whether live or asynchronous support is the better choice?
Live sessions are best when a student would benefit from real-time instruction, discussion, modeling, or guided practice. Asynchronous support works well when a student primarily needs detailed feedback on existing work and would benefit from completing revisions on a flexible schedule. Families who are unsure are welcome to contact me before booking.
How quickly is asynchronous feedback provided?
Standard asynchronous feedback is provided within two business days after the materials and scope have been confirmed.
Can we schedule a standing weekly appointment?
Because my booking calendar is updated around my teaching and family schedules, the same appointment time may not be available every week. When my schedule allows, a consistent appointment may be possible; however, it cannot always be guaranteed. Families are welcome to book sessions as far in advance as the calendar permits.
What should a student have ready?
Students should arrive with the relevant assignment directions, readings, drafts, teacher feedback, or test-preparation materials. Please enter an email address the student can access when completing the booking form so the Google Meet invitation is sent directly to the student. The address does not need to be a Gmail account. Students using an email that is not connected to Google may need to request admission when joining the meeting.
What is the cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice when canceling or rescheduling whenever possible. The booking calendar allows families to manage scheduled sessions.
What is included with academic coaching?
Every student receives personalized academic support and an organized Google folder for shared materials. Depending on the student’s needs, the folder may include custom slide decks, models, guided practice, writing or skill logs, revision tools, and other resources. Students and families may download and keep these materials after coaching ends. Families also receive feedback about the student’s progress and recommended next steps, and parents or guardians may be copied on this communication when appropriate. Live sessions include approximately 60 minutes of individualized instruction, while asynchronous services include detailed review and feedback completed outside a scheduled meeting.
How do you protect student privacy in the samples on this site?
Every example is anonymized or adapted. Names, schools, scores, diagnoses, assignment text, and other identifying details are removed. No testimonial or identifiable student work is published without explicit permission.
Do you complete or rewrite student work?
No. My role is to teach, question, model, and provide feedback while preserving the student’s ideas and voice. Students remain responsible for their own work.
Who can benefit from public speaking or interview coaching?
Public speaking coaching is appropriate for students and adults preparing for college or job interviews, classroom or professional presentations, speeches, and other situations that require clear, confident communication.
